Before sending the link below, be sure to preface it with something like the following:
This is an online test to determine if you are color blind. It was very difficult; however, I got them all correct. The last one is a bugger, but I figured it out. See if you can get 100%.
I have found that issuing a challenge gets them to really work through the problem. This is a great Halloween trick! One of the best I have found online. Now for the link.

I was quite surprised by the quality of these free flash multiplayer online games. One of my favorites was the simple Tank Ball game. Give it a shot (pun intended) and see if it doesn’t burn a couple minutes of your day with some mindless moving and shooting fun.

I’ve have gained a new found respect for Firefox since version 2.0 and I am really looking forward to the next release if the features discussed in this article are true. If you haven’t already downoloaded Firefox 2.0 yet, you should do so and find out why Firefox is the best browser on any platform.

I join Sean McHose early in the morning to discuss and demonstrate LEGO’s newest robotics system the Mindstorms NXT. The system had been out for about three months and I was aware of its development while a LEGO Ambassador with secret “in the know” information. It was one of those secrets you really wanted to get out tell everyone about so it was good to get a chance to finally play with the system and then demonstrate its capabilities on the air.

Apple has this to say about there new laptops:
A 2.16GHz or 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Up to 39% faster than its predecessor.(1) A built-in iSight for instant video conferencing on the move. Front Row with Apple Remote to dazzle everyone in the room. Now available in 15- and 17-inch models starting at just $1999. Start your engines.
All I can say, is it’s about time. When they add the Core 2 Duo to the regular MacBooks, I may have to make a purchase.

Finally, a web browser other than Safari that can spell check on the fly. I’ve had to use Safari for quite some time to manage my wiki and blogs because I have a tendency to mistype and misspell. Now I can finally go back to my favorite web browser, Firefox, and get all the great extensions I have been missing. I’m posting this using Firefox 2 and along with the Performancing blogging extension.

this article arrives:
Minor issues surface after IE 7 launch | CNET News.com
IE7 is sure to be a bust. I have already noticed that using the browser breaks some sites that conform to normally accepted CSS standards. Namely my faculty site. Looks like we have another buggy non-conforming browser from Microsoft. I’ll stick with FireFox and Flock for my browsing and blogging needs.

Yeah…I admit it, I’m a big StarGate fan in all incarnations (Movie, SG1 & Atlantis). I TiVo the two shows every Friday evening and watch them when I get a chance. I was kind of upset that SciFi had chosen to cancel the original series (SG1) after 10 years but am very happy that the studio, MGM, sees continued life in the series and the story. Check out the link to learn how they plan to keep the series alive.

I had to prepare a mid-term exam for my students and put together a SketchUp model to test their ability to quickly create a simple accurate assembly quickly using SketchUp. I dimensioned the drawings using the rudimentary dimensioning tools built into SketchUp so they do not meet the standards, but are not bad, considering. See notes within the images for more details.

I recently received a new Nokia 770 Internet Tablet and I have been running it through it’s paces. If you are unfamiliar with this device, I have uploaded some images with commentary to my flickr account. You can view the flickr set here.
I hope to post more info in the future on the use of this object. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite gadgets.

My students have been working on a pretty significant project for the past couple of weeks and being the good instructor that I am, I just completed the project as well. You can view the specifications for the project here, but in a nutshell, what they were asked to do was to use SketchUp to recreate a virtual model of a workbench that was published in the book The Boy Mechanic by Popular Mechanics from 1913.
You can view numerous images of the workbench model on my Flickr site.
