I frequently have folks ask me how to take an .iso file and make a usable CD/DVD from the file. They generally all make the the same mistake, they copy the .iso image directly to media and press the burn button. I recorded this screencast to demonstrate the proper method using a MAC and the free Burn software. Short and simple, but effective.
I had to prepare a mid-term exam for my students and put together a SketchUp model to test their ability to quickly create a simple accurate assembly quickly using SketchUp. I dimensioned the drawings using the rudimentary dimensioning tools built into SketchUp so they do not meet the standards, but are not bad, considering. See notes within the images for more details.
My students have been working on a pretty significant project for the past couple of weeks and being the good instructor that I am, I just completed the project as well. You can view the specifications for the project here, but in a nutshell, what they were asked to do was to use SketchUp to recreate a virtual model of a workbench that was published in the book The Boy Mechanic by Popular Mechanics from 1913.
You can view numerous images of the workbench model on my Flickr site.
