I’ve always loved the old serials with Buster Crabb and can’t wait to see what SciFi does with this franchise. I’ve always thought this series needed an update and the fact that it is going to be a weekly series could give some wonderful weekly cliffhangers. This would be a nice change from the normal season to season cliffhangers we have become accustomed to with most Sci Fi shows. Let’s hope that the developers realize that part of the charm of the old serials were the week to week cliffhangers.
My other hope is that they approach this with much the same why the approached the new Battlestar Galactica. Take the camp out of the original and give it more realistic setting and situations. I know Flash Gordon is anything but realistic, but a fresh and realistic approach could make this a very interesting and popular show. Can a remake of Buck Rogers be far behind?
Review or add information about comic book super-heroes. Just the site to visit when you need to know what powers obscure heros, such as Static, have as well as their origins. Fun for all fan boys!
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars and they celebrated in conjunction with Yesterday’s Rose Bowl parade. If you missed the spectacular (as I did) you can view the floats below thanks once again to YouTube.
Didn’t think so, but now that I have you thinking, check out this wonderful image of all the major Sci Fi space craft in scale on a single page. Now when your friend asks you if you know which is bigger a Babylon 5 Earth Alliance Nova Class or a Chig Battleship, you’ll know where to go to find the answer.
Firefly continues to live! It’s amazing that a show that was canceled after 13 episodes (or was it 12) and spawned a full length feature film that really didn’t do that well at the box office (but was an amazing film none the less) has a fan base that won’t let it die (and that’s good thing folks). I’m not much of a video game player these days, but if the story were intriguing and it continued the storyline, I might just have to take a look at it myself when released. BTW, if you missed Firefly during it’s original run or on Sci Fi, you can purchase the entire series on DVD from Target this week for only $19.00. That’s a bargain, so run out an get it!

It’s been extremely popular on Fridays and I never miss an episode thanks to my TiVo so this won’t effect my viewing. If you haven’t given this extremely popular sci fi show a shot and can’t watch on Fridays give it a shot. You are missing one of the best shows on television. Not the Battlestar from my youth, but in this case, that’s a good thing. More gritty and intelligent. Not for the kiddos though. At times it can be quite violent given the theme.
I was browsing around on Google Earth, I decided to type in area 51 and look around for some aliens (no…I don’t believe in aliens) and found…what? A Baseball field? Hmmmm. Aliens 3, Air Force 2 in the 7th Inning. Check it out for yourself. Load up Google Earth and then type in Area 51. Look to the left for the only patch of green around the place and zoom in. Let the conspiracy theories begin.
Take a look at the memo displayed on the Slice of SciFi site to see what could have been the starring cast. Very interesting read if it is in fact legitmate.
This appeals to the real Star Wars geek in everyone. The mission, blend the entire Star Wars: Episode IV movie into a single animated gif image. You gotta see it to believe it. Now if they would only create the remaining five films, the entire Ewoks film and cartoon library, and the Droids cartoons…oh, and let’s not forget that Star Wars Christmas special from the 70s.
